Little Farmhouse Font for Web Design Projects

I was working on a redesign for a boutique online store selling handmade ceramics and wanted to inject more personality into the brand’s digital presence. The challenge was finding a font that felt both inviting and professional—something that could elevate the hero section without making it feel too whimsical or too serious. That’s when I stumbled upon Little Farmhouse, a font from Script Amp that immediately caught my eye.

Little Farmhouse consists of two fonts designed to complement each other perfectly. Together or apart, these fonts are ideal for adding a chic and cheery touch to your crafts. This font is PUA encoded, which means it includes special characters and alternates that can add subtle design flair without complicating the layout.

Testing Little Farmhouse in a Hero Section

I first tested Little Farmhouse in the hero section of the website. The main headline read “Handcrafted with Care,” and I wanted it to feel warm and approachable. I placed the text over a full-width image of a rustic wooden table with ceramic mugs. The font’s soft curves and slightly handwritten style gave the headline a personal touch, while still maintaining enough clarity to be legible at a distance.

On mobile, the font scaled well, and I noticed that the spacing between letters didn’t become too tight or cramped. It wasn’t overly decorative, so it didn’t interfere with readability. This made me think about how Little Farmhouse could work in similar contexts—like product landing pages or blog headers where a friendly tone is needed but clarity remains key.

Font Pairing and Visual Hierarchy

One of the things I love about Little Farmhouse is how well it pairs with other typefaces. For the body copy on the homepage, I used a clean sans serif font like Montserrat. This created a nice contrast between the display font and the body text, helping to guide the user’s eye from the headline down to the supporting content.

I also experimented with using Little Farmhouse for call-to-action buttons. The phrase “Shop Now” stood out nicely against a light background, and the font’s playful yet polished look added a sense of urgency without being overwhelming.

When designing a digital brand kit for this project, I included Little Farmhouse as the primary font for headings and logos. Its versatility allowed it to be used across multiple touchpoints—from social media graphics to packaging design—without losing its visual identity.

Readability and Brand Consistency

Readability was a top priority. I tested Little Farmhouse across different screen sizes and backgrounds. On dark mode sections, I found that the font remained legible, especially when paired with a high-contrast color palette. For smaller screens, I adjusted the font size and line height to ensure that the text didn’t feel cluttered or hard to read.

Consistency was another factor. Using Little Farmhouse throughout the site helped create a cohesive brand experience. Whether it was in the navigation bar, product titles, or footer links, the font maintained a consistent tone and style that reinforced the brand’s identity.

Using Little Farmhouse Across Different Website Elements

Little Farmhouse proved to be incredibly versatile. Here are a few examples of how I used it:

I also considered the font’s performance. Since Little Farmhouse is available as a webfont, I made sure to optimize its loading time by using font-display: swap and only loading the necessary weights. This helped keep the site fast and responsive, which is crucial for user experience and SEO.

Before finalizing the font for the project, I checked the licensing terms to ensure it was suitable for commercial use. I also verified that it supported the languages required for the target audience and that it had the necessary alternates and ligatures for advanced typographic control.

Overall, Little Farmhouse became an essential part of the brand’s digital identity. It brought a sense of warmth, creativity, and professionalism that aligned perfectly with the boutique’s aesthetic and values.
